"AT HOME WITH CONSTABLE"
COLIN PAINTER

Exposition d’objets sur lesquels a été reproduit le tableau «Le champ de blé», peint par John Constable, peintre paysagiste anglais du XIXe siècle. Il s’agit d’une sélection de la collection de l’artiste-peintre Colin Painter exposée à la National Gallery à Londres en 1996. Ces reproductions mettent en évidence comment une œuvre d’art prend place dans la vie quotidienne sous des formes très variées et dans les maisons de toute l’échelle sociale britannique.

An exhibition of various articles, using reproductions of Constable painting "The Cornfield". Colin Painter set up an exhibition at the National Gallery, in 1996, using reproductions of this famous work of John Constable the 19th century landscape painter, to show how a work of art can take its place in everyday life in many varied forms and in socially varied situations.

LES PATCHWORKS
ATELIER DE LA COURTEPOINTE

La Courtepointe est née en novembre 1994 au Roc de Tonnac près de Cordes et est actuellement accueillie dans les locaux de la mairie de Réalmont. Rompue aux techniques classiques de patchwork, cette association aborde également des techniques variées regroupées sous le terme d’art textile. Les adhérentes ont participé à des travaux de groupe tel que le Round Robbing et réalisé entre autres le grand rideau de l’Acadoc à Cordes (13m x 3.5m). Il promeut l’art du patchwork par diverses expositions telles que « Le Pastel », « Toulouse-Lautrec l’homme qui aimait les femmes », etc...

This workshop was started in November 1994 at Roc de Tonnac, near to Cordes. Breaking with the traditional techniques of patchwork, this group gathered a variety of techniques under the umbrella name of Textile Arts. The members have taken part in group works and have created, among others, the great curtain of L’Acadoc at Cordes (13m x 3.5m) They promote the art of patchwork at various exhibitions, such as «the Pastel», «Toulouse Lautrec, the man who loved women» etcetera...
